March 2010

Length 4.8 miles one way from Whitehorse
Community Park Ball Field. Elevation change 1600 feet. Mix of gravel and
paved secondary road. Suggest a bike with at least 1.75 inch wide tires and
very low gears.
This trail is a challenging climb that will test your aerobic potential, but it
is rewarding with many wide open views of a Jumbo and Whitehorse Mountains and
the Stillaguamish Valley. The route I have highlighted starts from HWY 530
about 1 mile north of Darrington, but other combinations of routes are easily
combined with this climb via the Power Line Road. It is easy to combine this
with travel on Community
Transit Route 230.
